On Saturday the 17th of September, Matt and Ellie celebrated their gorgeous Wedding in Oxford.
Plum Catering was given the special task of putting together a menu to complement their colourful day. When catering for weddings, we get a lot of requests for both buffets and fine dining spreads. In this instance, we were asked to provide both! Plum were trusted with both the fine dining wedding breakfast and the evening buffet. Ellie and Matt selected our mid-priced Menu B for their guests, coming in at a reasonable price of £29.95 per head. They offered their guests a choice of Asparagus tips wrapped in prosciutto ham, served in a fresh Parmesan and Cream sauce, or French Onion Soup accompanied with Gruyere Cheese Croutons to start, both of which were a massive hit. For main course, they offered up a choice between Chicken stuffed with Mozzarella and wrapped in bacon, served with Buerre Blanc sauce and crushed new potatoes, or the vegetarian option of a scrummy Aubergine cup filled with baby spinach, wild mushrooms and cherry tomatoes. For dessert, the painful decision of Tarte au Chocolat, or Forest Fruits Pavlova! And of course, Coffee, Tea and Mints for afterwards, just perfect to wash down a big slice of wedding cake with. Although, like many weddings these days, Matt and Ellie opted for a beautiful cupcake tower instead of a traditional wedding cake, so the guests could take their treat home with them. Good idea, with their tummies so full from all our delicious fine dining options!
Plum loves to cater for special occasions and to be a part of so many people’s precious memories.
So to cater for both the day and evening do for this wedding was a real experience, especially in beautiful Oxfordshire.
Plum also prepared an extensive evening buffet for Ellie and Matt. They had 140 evening guests, coming in at a total of £6.85 per head, and they got to enjoy a selection of freshly cut sandwiches, a selection of pork pies, sausage rolls and pickles, chipolatas, savoury eggs, vol au vents, crudites, mini pizza, assorted savoury tarts, homemade quiche, chicken drumsticks, a selection of mini spring rolls, onion bhajis and samosas, chicken tikka skewers, crisps and nuts and fresh mixed salads. All with the option of dessert included, but the happy couple opted for a less traditional chocolate fountain instead and didn’t want to weigh down their guests too much, so that the party could go on long into the night. As if they would have still been hungry after these two extensive spreads!
The bride told us after that “she couldn’t be happier with the service and food we provided, it really helped me relax on my big day knowing everything was in the hands of experienced professionals!”
One thing we love about catering is that it takes you all over the country, we’ve catered weddings in Oxfordshire, London, Yorkshire, and near Wales! We love to travel and meet new people and help make peoples days nationwide!
